I (Don’t) Like to Move It, Move It: Identifying and Addressing Movement Disorders

All Sessions Will Be Held in Eastern Time (ET)

Whether drug-induced or as a consequence of a neurodegenerative disorder, involuntary movements (as well as related neuropsychiatric symptoms or NPS) can impart great stress on both patients and their care partners. In this half-day program, we will compare the causes and symptom presentations of various movement disorders, including those with a neurodegenerative basis (such as Huntington’s disease (HD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD)) and those that are drug-induced (such as tardive dyskinesia (TD)) in order to improve the differential diagnosis and recognition of comorbid movement disorder presentations. Additionally, practical guidance will be provided for collaborating with inter- and intradisciplinary care teams to provide optimal, evidence-based treatment and support for patients with HD, PD, and drug-induced movement (DIM) disorders and their care partners.
