During this unprecedented time of social isolation and disruption to normal, everyday activities, nearly every American has been affected in one way or another. However, for those suffering with autism and their caregivers, the limited access to societal supports and established schedules may be even more greatly felt. In a survey of its members conducted by SPARK (Simons Powering Autism Research), many (especially those located in urban areas of the United States) reported feeling that the COVID-19 pandemic had greatly affected their lives. However, this survey reveals that there are positive, as well as negative, implications to the circumstances induced by COVID-19 (Table).
